The estate is located in Sicily on the northern slopes of the volcano, Mount Etna. This area is historically recognized as the finest in the appellation for fine red wines. Due to 500,000 years of volcanic eruptions, the soil at Terre Nere is mostly volcanic ash with black pumice and abundant volcanic rock. The extraordinary elevation yields dramatic temperature variations between night and day, making the wines of Etna fine and elegant.
